Wellness

This blog was put on permanent Hiatus due to a spontaneous turn around in my health 2 years ago.

My Lupus and other conditions were totally healed by God through prayer, diet and healthy thought life changes. My fibromyalgia remains with minimal symptoms. I am under the care of a doctor for that.

I encourage everyone who is ill to re-visit the past history of healthy eaters with a Mediterranean diet consisting of mostly raw fruits and vegies as well as healthy free-range meat.

For more info, check out the philoshopy of Jordan Reuben, author of the Maker's Diet and The Great Physicians RX.

Also, look into herbal supplements such as Pau d' Arco and Cat Claw as well as Liccorice Root and be careful to read up on any complications with medications or other illnesses that prevent one from ingesting these herbs. They were of great help to me.

Blessings to all and I wish you the best health possible.

Long Time No Post

It's been way too long since my last post in here. Yes, I have been ill but other times just too busy.

Right now I am dealing with some strange neurological symptoms as well as extreme muscle weakness, fatique and joint pain. I also am having tremors in my hands, neck and legs along with carpal tunnel and plantar faciatitus in my feet. I am in extreme pain and very tired.

Soon I will go to the neurologist and reumatologist to get further help. IN the meantime, I am to have a mammogram for a large gap in my left side. In addition, there will be the following blood work done: CBC, CMP, TSH, RH factor, ESR, RPR, B12, Folic Acid, and ANA. Some of these tests, I have periodically since they are related to my previous diagnosis of Systemic Lupus, fibromyalgia and more. However, some are new tests that I've not had done before. There may be a future diagnisis of Mixed Connective Tissue Disease due to the overlapping of symptoms I have between RA and SLE. Or there may be something related to a neurological problem which is making these SLE symptoms worse. Only time will tell. If you have had any of these tests or diseases, please feel free to write and share your experiences. I could use the moral support. Thanks.

Adaptive Equipment

People with disabilities often utilize adaptive equipment to help them be more independent. Here is an article about the latest piece of adaptive equipment I have acquired:

My husband bought me a new pet to help me when my hands and arms are hurting or not working properly. It's name is Dragon. I just speak into this here microphone and it does all my typing for me. It's pretty amazing, but just like a real pet, it needs a little training. For instance, if I say "fear", it might think I'm saying "see hear." Then I have to correct it by commanding it and spelling out the word. It learns my own unique speech patterns and begins to adapt itself by typing the right thing. At first, I spoke slow and precise sounds and then faster as I progressed. It was pretty good at keeping up with my rapid speech. I had so much fun testing it's ability. How fast can you say, "Rubber baby buggy bumpers"? Dragon Naturally Speaking is a great software program which interfaces with MS Outlook, Outlook Express and MS Office as well as some other programs. I've been playing with it and learning all about it so that I can fast-track some of my writing projects in spite of my disabilities. Time will only tell how valuable this tool will be to me.Well, I need to go to the youth blog and post something now before youth group tonight. Maybe I'll try using Dragon to do so. See ya later.
